A day at the gardens
Sunday, 11 October 2009
The weekend has been absolutely beautiful.
I could talk about how the sun shone, how we were able to get out and enjoy the weather, and how it really, truly, feels like Spring is here.
But I'd rather show you the photos.
We took the kids to the Botanic Gardens again yesterday morning.

Everything was in full bloom.

In the afternoon, after a spot of house-hunting, there was a little shower of rain. Just enough for two preschoolers to get out the umbrellas.

And run around on the daisies.

I love Spring. You can almost hear the earth laughing for joy.

- When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy,
And the dimpling stream runs laughing by;
When the air does laugh with our merry wit,
And the green hill laughs with the noise of it;
when the meadows laugh with lively green,
And the grasshopper laughs in the merry scene,
When Mary and Susan and Emily
With their sweet round mouths sing "Ha, ha he!"
When the painted birds laugh in the shade,
Where our table with cherries and nuts is spread:
Come live, and be merry, and join with me,
To sing the sweet chorus of "Ha, ha, he!"

Nice. We did the Mt Cargill track (downwards only - my poor knees!) as the kids will be back to school and I did promise them. I got lots of lovely photos too. Someday I really should learn how to get them online :)
